About us
This toolkit was developed by the Association for Learning Technology
Digital Sustainability SIG. We are individuals from several different UK Universities who wanted to do something about the role of Educational Technology in the Climate and Ecological crisis.
The toolkit was originally developed after running a series of online workshops on Digital
Education and the climate and ecological emergency in 2024. The workshops crowdsourced ideas and issues with colleagues in London, the UK, China and New Zealand. The workshops aimed to;
- Encourage reflection on how to influence structural change in our potential spheres of influence.
- Crowdsource what we already have and what is missing that we would like.
- Start planning what could help us move forward and how we could collaborate to increase our influence and impact.
We hope that this toolkit will help continue the conversation at your own institution and between institutions by providing a structure to work collaboratively and bring about meaningful change.
We have used Github pages as a low carbon option for the toolkit. This page received an A* rating as it is 0.040 Grams CO2e per pageview. See more about the rating system on WebsiteCarbon.
